Freed Hotel tower at dusk above downtown Toronto
My role

Art direction, camera placement, street photography and drone shoot planning, lighting and materials, animation, post-production and client presentations.

Challenge

One consistent look across street, aerial, day and night views, on fast marketing deadlines and a tightly restricted downtown site.

Outcome

Cinematic visuals for pre-construction branding and promotion. The campaign won Best Advertising Campaign at the 2024 BILD Awards.

DFinal composition

I selected the viewpoint within the city model and, following client approval, prepared a shoot document specifying the drone’s location, height, direction, and time of day. The lighting direction was established beforehand through the art direction document shared with the client.

After the shoot, I organised the photography and selected the strongest shots, then matched the 3D perspective and lighting to the chosen photograph. Rendering and post-production brought the proposed tower and its surroundings into one cohesive image.
